The advantage of using copper-chelates relative to other copper sources is that the binding with chelates ensures a better uptake, particularly at the intestinal site.
The unique combination of organic acids are also known for their antibacterial properties, since they lower the pH which leads to growth inhibition of potential pathogenic bacteria within the gastro-intestinal tract. In addition, they support the digestion of protein by lowering the pH within the stomach. In contrary, lactic acid has a growth promoting effect on positive bacteria such as Lactobacillus.
